About April

I am April E. Sutton, a writer/journalist with training in Broadcast Communications and Psychographics. We hopscotched around the country with my husband’s job and finally settled in the southern most tip of Ohio to await his retirement. In addition to living in several areas throughout the United States, we have crisscrossed the country extensively in our travels. We have also traveled outside of the United States to England, Germany, and Japan together, with my husband traveling even more extensively. We have also hosted people from countries from around the world thanks to my husband’s job. These experiences have given me the opportunity to converse with people about our country from the perspective of many viewpoints, all which come into play in my writing.

I am a generalist with extensive interests. I appreciate the domestic arts and crochet and sew. I love the fine arts and belong to a Creative Cluster made up of artists from a variety of disciplines: a painter, photographer, designer, fabric artist, writer, and an active searching creative. I am an avid reader, and frustrated by my lack of feedback on my writing efforts, except by my friends who love it, and my family who don’t get it.

My Blog is my Perspective on what is happening around me, commentary on current news, social issues, personal issues that could apply to anyone. Just as any newspaper has a lifestyle and entertainment section, so does my blog include lifestyle and entertainment. The entertainment is my attempt at poetry, and fiction writing.

  1. I enjoyed reading a bit more about you! My kids don’t get my blog (most of them are teenagers or young adults), but my husband recognizes it as an attempt at “having a life.”

On another note, I have nominated you for the Liebster Award. Please feel free to ignore this nomination; if you want to participate, the rules are explained in my post: http://sappyasatree.wordpress.com/2014/10/14/the-liebster-award-who-are-the-bloggers-in-your-neighborhood/

    1. Thank you for your nomination. I have so much going on right now, and am stuck on several things from Blogging 101 that would make participation so much easier. That is the primary reason I am abstaining. Another reason is that I have some family issues that are taking me out of town to interrupt my blogging, again! So much for the editorial calendar.

  2. Hello April,

I like your blog perspective! And your writing style is nice! I just read your “About April” and I like it. Thank you to follow my blog. I am really happy to get you and start to follow you!

    Best wishes

  3. I used to have a wonderful English teacher named Miss Sutton. Lovely blog you have here! Thanks for your kind compliment and I’m glad Dr. Stanley’s message was a blessin’ to ya! Praise the Lord!

  4. Hi April, I nominated you for the 3 Days, 3 Quotes Challenge. I’m publishing the post Wed at 7am PDT. The instructions are in the post. You are not obligated to participate, but I see that you are blogging almost daily now, so this might work for you 🙂

  5. Fantastic blog. One can only hope that after I become more familiar with Word Press, and complete some of the blogging courses available, my site will become more professional looking.
I enjoy reading your blogs and look forward to reading more of them in the future.

  6. April, you have an amazing blog. I think we may cross each other’s path often with our various perspectives. I look forward to your future posts!😃

  7. Hello April, I have been following your blog from past sometime, and wanted to reach you. But couldn’t find a contact tab on the blog. Is there a way to contact you apart from the comments?

    Best regards,
