One day back at work after the Labor Day weekend, and it is already a Wonderful Wednesday. After visiting some new places, and seeing five out of six grandchildren for a quick visit, we are already looking forward to a fun weekend.
We visited Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Hubby poses for a picture and then it was off to the battlefield.
Visiting Gettysburg left me a proud American. During the very bloody battle of Gettysburg only one civilian died when a bullet went through a wall. There was no intentional harm done to anyone not directly involved with the fighting. Field hospitals, marked by red flags, respected by both sides during the conflict, treated the wounded soldiers, Yankee or Rebel, who were given the best possible care of the time, equally. Confederate and Union solders fought hard, and behaved honorably. This was our first visit, but it will be one of many, because there is so much to see and so much information to absorb.
After a wonderful trip through historic Pennsylvania during the late summer, there is nothing better than to come home. It is wonderful to sleep in our own bed, and be in our place of total relaxation, with our favorite comfortable chairs and with all our soft things around. Familiar sounds, scents, and colors envelop us, and we enjoy the best food in town, our own cooking. Our pets are home, and happy, and all is right with the world.
We can rest with our freshly minted happy memories, and look forward to another weekend just days away.
